Application or renewal of biometric passport

The ordinary passport is the official travel document issued to Congolese citizens. It is required for international travel.

Procedure

  1. 1Make an appointment at the Embassy.
  2. 2Appear in person with required documents.
  3. 3Fill out the passport application form.
  4. 4Complete biometric data collection (fingerprints, photo).
  5. 5Collect your passport at the indicated time.

Required documents

  • Previous passport (in case of renewal).
  • Valid consular card.
  • Copy of birth certificate.
  • Three (3) recent ID photos (passport format, white background).
  • Proof of residence in the country of residence (Beijing consular district).
  • Valid residence permit or visa.

Processing time

Processing time is 4 to 6 weeks from the date of submission of the complete file.

Important note

The passport is valid for five (5) years. In case of loss or theft, a report must be filed with Chinese authorities and the Embassy.
